Open Movie: Spring

The Spring team used the development version of Blender 2.80 for the entire production, before the software was in official Beta even. As for all of Blender’s Open Movies, the entire production process and all its source files are being shared on the production platform Blender Cloud.

EMMYS 2018 Motion Graphics

The opening house look, created with artist Nacho Cruje, combined both Cycles and EEVEE: The primary look of the text and its shading came from Cycles and the introduction shadow animation was rendered in EEVEE. Later, the gleams and moving slanted glass piece were added in After Effects.

Open Movie: Glass Half

Two amateur art critics meet in a gallery and argue passionately about the pieces they see, until finally they find a piece on which they can agree... All of the visuals of the film have been realized using Blender and other free/open source software, the film itself and all the assets are being released open and free as Creative Commons CC-BY.

Promotional Titles

Joseph Conover is a 3D artist at Greenhaus GFX, where he created graphics for several high profile film credit sequences such as Wonder Woman, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and more. As he stepped into the industry and picked up other creative tools, Joseph found that Blender often gave him an edge in terms of workflow.
